Settings, on/off switch and privacy controls

Chapter 10 of 11

Turn SBMM or any single feature on or off, change the colour theme, hide what you do not need and clear everything the extension saved.

Turn SBMM on or off with one click

  1. 1Click the SBMM icon next to the address bar to open the popup.
  2. 2In the popup header, click the power button. Green "ON" means SBMM is running. Grey "OFF" means it is switched off everywhere.
  3. 3While SBMM is off, the toolbar icon shows a small "OFF" badge, nothing runs on the pages you visit and no lookups are sent. Click the power button again to turn it back on.

The Settings tab: switch single features

Click the gear button in the popup header, or open the Settings tab, to see every feature with its own switch. The big switch at the top is the same master on/off as the power button.

On Google search: result metrics bar, SERP sidebar, keyword line, SBMM KD and Quick Check buttons.

Other search engines: one switch each for Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Brave Search and Yandex.

Google Maps and local results: business rows on Maps, business rows in Google results, and review capture for the Business Profile Audit.

On every website: the top bar, its site numbers, and each top bar tool (color picker, full page screenshot, area screenshot, bulk URLs, clean text and KWs Ideas). When the top bar is off, its numbers and tools are off too.

Changes apply right away on open tabs, with no reload. A feature you switch off stops running and sends no lookups. "Reset to defaults" turns everything back on.

Colour themes

There are two themes: Light (the default) and Dark. Switch in the popup header, on the Keyword Ideas and audit pages, or with the round button in the sidebar.

The theme is shared, so changing it in one place changes it everywhere.

Hide what you do not need

Sidebar: click the arrow at the top to collapse it to a small strip. It stays collapsed on later searches until you expand it.

Top bar: click the small arrow under it to hide it on all sites. While it is hidden, no lookups are made for the sites you visit.

Filters and weak limits in the sidebar are saved, so set them once and forget them.

What stays on your computer

Your settings (including your on/off choices), keyword projects, cached numbers, business details, colour history and any reviews you load on Google Maps are stored only in your browser.

Reviews are kept for at most 30 days, and only the reviewer first name is stored. To stop saving reviews, turn off "Review capture for Business Audit" in Settings.

The full list of what is sent where is in the Privacy policy.

Clear everything

  1. 1To delete one Keyword Ideas project, open it, then Project settings and "Delete project".
  2. 2To clear everything the extension saved, remove it: right-click the SBMM icon and choose "Remove from Chrome", or use the Remove button on the chrome://extensions page.
  3. 3Removing the extension deletes everything it stored in your browser, including your anonymous install ID. You can install it again any time and start fresh.
  4. 4After you remove it, a short feedback page on this website opens so you can tell us why. Filling it in is optional.
