How the listing audit works
Paste a listing link or ID
Any public Etsy listing works: one of yours or a competitor's. Add a focus keyword if you want the title and description checked for it.
Read the score and the fixes
Six areas add up to 100 points. Fixes first lists what costs the most points, and every check says why it matters and how to fix it.
Fix, then run it again
Save your changes on Etsy and press Re-run in Recent audits to see the new score. Your last 50 audits stay in your account.
The audit reads public listing details only. We never change anything on Etsy.
How the listing score works
The audit reads the public details of a listing and runs a set of checks in six areas. Each check passes, warns or fails, and the points add up to a score out of 100. Checks that do not apply to a listing, such as materials on a digital download, are skipped and do not count against it.

Grades and where to start
A score of 90 or more is an A, 75 or more a B, 60 or more a C and 45 or more a D. Anything lower is an F. Start with the fixes first view: fails cost the most points, so fix those, then work through the warnings. Run the audit again after you save your changes on Etsy.
Estimated sales and revenue
Etsy does not show how many times a single listing has sold, so the audit gives an estimate. It takes the listing's total views and multiplies them by a typical buy rate for its price: cheaper items convert more often, so a 5 USD item is counted at about 3% and a 100 USD item at about 0.6%. When the listing has reviews, we also show what they suggest (reviews × the shop's sales per review) as a second opinion. Estimated revenue is the estimated sales × the current price.
Add the search term you want the listing to be found for as the focus keyword. The audit then checks that it sits in the first part of the title and early in the description, where buyers and Etsy search look first.
Questions about the listing audit
What it checks and how to read the results.
Six areas worth 100 points in total: the title, the 13 tags, the description, photos and video, the category and attributes, and the offer and shop policies. Each check passes, warns or fails, and tells you why it matters and what to change.
You need a free SBMM account, and that is all. You do not need to connect a shop: the audit works on any public Etsy listing, yours or a competitor's. Sign in, paste the listing link or its number and press Audit.
It is the search term you want the listing to be found for. With a focus keyword the audit also checks that it sits near the start of the title and early in the description. Leave it empty and those checks are skipped.
Etsy does not share sales for a single listing, only for the whole shop. So we take the listing's total views and multiply them by a typical buy rate for its price, from about 5% for items under 5 USD down to 0.5% above 110 USD, and never more than the shop's total sales. When the listing has reviews we also show what they suggest (its reviews times the shop's sales per review). Revenue is the estimate times the current price. It is an estimate: real buy rates differ by shop and older sales may have been at another price.
A high score means the listing follows good practice, so buyers and Etsy search can understand it. Sales also depend on the product, the price, photos that sell, reviews and demand for what you make.
Some rules only apply to some listings. Digital downloads skip materials and processing time, and the keyword checks are skipped when you leave the focus keyword empty. Skipped checks do not lower the score.
It is the number in the listing link, right after /listing/. In https://www.etsy.com/listing/1234567890/handmade-mug the listing ID is 1234567890. You can paste the whole link.
