Etsy tools: what you need first

Sign in, check your Etsy access and find your way around the Etsy menu in your account.

What you need

The SEO side of the extension works without an account. The Etsy tools are different: they need a signed-in SBMM account with Etsy access switched on.

Three tools work without signing in, on this website: the Etsy Fee & Profit Calculator, the Etsy Ads Calculator and the Title & Tag Checker.

You do not need your own Etsy shop for most tools. Keyword research, the listing audit, Shop Info and the bars on etsy.com work for anyone with Etsy access. Connecting a shop only adds the pages about your own listings.

Sign in to the extension

  1. 1Open any Etsy search, listing or shop page with the extension installed.
  2. 2A row at the top of the page says "Sign in to SBMM to see listing data, audits and keyword ideas on Etsy". Press Sign in.
  3. 3A page on this website opens in a new tab. Sign in and confirm the connection.
  4. 4Go back to Etsy. The row goes away by itself and the numbers start to appear.

If the row says something else

"Your SBMM account does not have Etsy access yet" means you are signed in but the tools are not switched on for you. Press Request access. Your request goes to us through the Feedback page and the reply comes by email.

"Please complete your profile" means your account needs a few profile details first. Press Complete profile, fill in the form and come back.

"Etsy data is off" means the Etsy switch is turned off. Press Turn on in the row. You can turn it off again at any time with the power button at the end of the row.

Where the tools live

On etsy.com the extension adds bars and rows to the page. The bigger tools are in your account on this website, under Etsy in the left menu.

The menu has these groups: Dashboard, Keyword Research, Competitor Research, Listing Optimization, Shop Insights, Trends, Tools and My limits.

Daily limits

Each tool has a daily limit, and SBMM Etsy Tools Credits cover all the tools together, on the site and in the extension. Saved results are free.

Open My limits to see what is used and what is left today. All limits reset each day, at the time shown on that page.

When a limit runs out, the row on Etsy tells you which tool stopped and when it starts again. Nothing else breaks.
